Lettering and Hand-Drawn Type
Hand lettering allows for the use of a broader visual language to dig deeper into the message being expressed, the audience it’s trying to reach, and the voice behind the message. Additionally, hand-lettering’s unique eye-catching quality has become a ubiquitous tool in current design.
SELFIES
I tend to largely shy away from any camera including my own, however I am guilty of a different type of self-indulgent “selfie,” and I have to admit, it’s a great way to warm up at the start of the day.
FAMILY PORTRAIT CARDS
This isn’t a particularly original concept (though it certainly was to me when I first started) but creating holiday cards in cartoon styles made it easy and fun to play in these popular styles while creating something I seem to always be behind on!

Most of these things can be found on my instagram which I encourage you to check out for a less curated look. I love to use instagram as a way of promoting my work, connecting with other artists, and getting in on fun community hashtags. Hashtags like #outfitoftheday or #ootd encourage me to try self portraits as seen above, and trending hashtags based on current pop culture often nudge me toward expressing my fandom as seen here.
